FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Larry Brandmeyer Accepted into ISSF Academy Class A Coaching ProgramAnkeny, Iowa — April 2026 — Larry Brandmeyer, Founder and Lead Coach of Brandmeyer Shooting Academy (BSA), has been formally accepted to attend the ISSF Academy Class A Coaching Program, the highest level of coach education offered by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).
The ISSF Academy is the official global education body of the ISSF and serves as the supreme authority for international shooting sport coaching education. Its structured, four‑level coaching pathway culminates in Class A—an elite program designed for professional coaches working in support of national federations and high‑performance athlete programs.
Brandmeyer’s participation in the ISSF Academy Class A program is sponsored by
USA Shooting, reflecting national‑level support for his continued development as a high‑performance coach and contributor to international coaching and athlete‑development systems.
As part of the selection process, Brandmeyer’s acceptance was informed by his multi‑year work developing the Brandmeyer Shooting Academy athlete and coach development framework, a comprehensive system integrating technical training, mental performance, physical preparation, leadership development, and long‑term athlete development principles aligned with ISSF Academy values. This framework will serve as the foundation for Brandmeyer’s required research paper, a core applied and academic component of the ISSF Academy Class A program.
The ISSF Academy Class A program is specifically intended for coaches operating within elite performance environments, supporting athletes at the highest international levels and working in collaboration with national federations. Class A coaches are prepared to accompany athletes to international competitions, contribute to sustainable high‑performance systems, and support the education and development of coaches within the sport. The program places strong emphasis on elite performance leadership, values‑based decision‑making, and applied research.
Upon completion, Brandmeyer will be among less than a handful of ISSF Academy Class A–certified coaches in the United States, and part of a very small number globally recognized at this level of coaching education.
Brandmeyer Shooting Academy integrates ISSF‑aligned coaching principles across youth, collegiate, and high‑performance programs, supporting athletes pursuing long‑term development pathways from grassroots participation through national and international competition. Participation in the ISSF Academy Class A program further strengthens the Academy’s commitment to Olympic values, evidence‑based coaching, and sustainable high‑performance environments.
